Can you help us get there, today?
The day after tomorrow is Governor Malloy’s first big chance to demonstrate real leadership on education reform: in just two days he will deliver his budget address and his plans for steering us out of this mess.
Wednesday is also the deadline for the Connecticut General Assembly’s Education Committee to raise bills on the issues it will consider in this legislative session.
We need to take action today to make sure that these two huge moments don’t pass us by. We have two days to make sure that Connecticut moves in the right direction for our kids. So what can you do today?
1. Click to send a letter to the governor letting him know that he needs to speak to Spending Smart and Staffing Smart this year in his budget address by 1) fairly funding each student at the school they actually attend and 2) keeping the most effective teachers, not just the longest-serving ones, in the classroom when we face teacher layoffs this year.
2. Click to send a letter to your state legislators asking them to Spend Smart and Staff Smart by raising bills on these issues and giving them hearings in the Education Committee.
3. Share this with your friends on Facebook and Twitter.
Since last Thursday, hundreds of advocates have already contacted the governor and their legislators. But to break through the noise, we know we need hundreds more. Can you help us get there today?
